DHAKA, July 1 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a weather alert warning of possible storms over eight regions of the country by early Tuesday afternoon.

According to the latest inland river port weather forecast issued by the BMD for the period up to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, temporary gusty or squally winds accompanied by rain or thundershowers may affect the regions of Jashore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar.

Winds from the southeast or east are expected to blow at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour, prompting the department to advise Level 1 cautionary signals for all river ports in these areas.

The advisory urges small boats and river transports in affected regions to proceed with caution as squalls may disrupt navigation. Authorities have also recommended continuous monitoring of weather updates throughout the day.

The BMD continues to monitor the evolving weather situation closely and will issue further instructions if necessary.
