Dhaka, July 20, (V7N) – The International Crimes Tribunal has directed that investigation reports against 45 individuals—including senior political leaders and former law enforcement officials—be submitted by October 15 in connection with crimes against humanity during the July–August uprising.

The order was issued on Sunday morning by a bench led by International Crimes Tribunal Chairman Justice Md. Golam Mortuza Majumder. On the same day, 38 accused were produced before the tribunal in connection with seven separate cases related to the uprising and coup attempt.

Among those summoned were former Law Minister Anisul Haque, brought from Keraniganj Central Jail, and former NTMC Director Brigadier General (Retd.) Ziaul Ahsan, brought from Keraniganj Special Jail. Former Minister Dipu Moni was produced from Kashimpur Jail, and Golam Dastagir Gazi from Narayanganj Jail.

Prominent political figures including Obaidul Quader, Salman F. Rahman, and Junaid Ahmed Palak, along with 23 former law enforcement officers and 9 former ministers and MPs, are among the accused. Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun and other senior officers are also named in the investigation.

The cases include high-profile incidents such as the Mugda massacre and alleged atrocities in Narsingdi, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet.

Prosecutors stated that investigations are ongoing and more time will be sought to complete the process in all related cases.
