Dhaka, Aug 26 (V7N) – Twenty-five newly appointed judges of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court have formally taken their oaths of office. The ceremony was held at the Judges Lounge of the Supreme Court on Tuesday at 1:40 pm, administered by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed. The oath-taking process was conducted by High Court Division Registrar (Justice) Moazzem Hossain.
The appointments were announced by the government on Monday (August 25) through a notification issued by the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. The appointments are effective from the date of taking the oath.
The newly appointed judges include Supreme Court lawyers Md. Anwarul Islam (Shahin), Rajiuddin Ahmed, Faisal Hasan Arif, Md. Asif Hasan, Md. Ziaul Haque, Fatema Anwar, Abdur Rahman, Syed Hasan Zubair, Urmi Rahman, as well as officials from the judiciary and Law and Justice Ministry such as Md. Saiful Islam, Md. Nurul Islam, Sheikh Abu Taher, Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, SM Saiful Islam, Dihidar Masum Kabir, Jasmine Ara Begum, Murad-e-Mawla Sohel, Md. Zakir Hossain, Md. Rafizul Islam, Md. Manjur Alam, Md. Lutfar Rahman, Md. Rezaul Karim, AFM Saiful Karim, and SM Iftekhar Uddin Mahmud.
Earlier, the government had simultaneously transferred 230 district court judges, including 41 district judges, across 19 districts, including Dhaka. This reshuffling also involved additional district and sessions judges, joint district and sessions judges, and senior assistant and assistant judges.
