Pabna, Oct 5 (V7N) — A young man was arrested in Chatmohar upazila by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) along with a foreign-made revolver during a late-night operation.

RAB-12 Pabna Camp’s acting Company Commander, Assistant Police Superintendent Enamul Haque, reported that a RAB team conducted a raid around 1:40 a.m. on Saturday in the Kuabasi Northpara area of Chatmohar.

During the operation, Ripon Mondal (26), son of Adam Mondal and a resident of the area, was apprehended behind the house of one Ashraful, located along the road from Kuabasi Bazaar to Kadamtali Bazaar. A foreign-made revolver was recovered from his possession.

According to RAB sources, Ripon Mondal is suspected of storing and using illegal firearms for an extended period.

The seized weapon and the arrested individual have been handed over to Chatmohar Police Station for further legal action. Authorities confirmed that all necessary steps will be taken under the Arms Act and related regulations.
