Four members of a drug trafficking family, including women, have been arrested in Joypurhat with over three lakh taka, drugs, and passports seized.

Joypurhat, July 3 (V7N)- In Panchbibi, Joypurhat, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB -14) has arrested four top drug smugglers from the same family, including women. 
 
They were apprehended on Wednesday (July 3) afternoon from Chhota Manik area of the bordering Panchbibi upazila.
 
The arrested drug traffickers are Monir Molla (34) and his wife Shabnam Mustari (28), Munna Molla (28) and his wife Sharmin Akter. Monir and Munna are brothers.
 
Confirming the matter, Deputy Commander of Batallion-14 of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Major Mohammad Shafayat Jamil Arnab said, for a long time, Monir, Munna along with their wives were involved in drug smuggling from various border areas of Panchbibi, selling contraband and narcotics from their own home.
 
Based on this information, a raid was conducted, and they were seized with 165 bottles of Phensidyl, cash of TK 3 lakh 30 thousand, 7 mobile phones, and passports.
 
The Deputy Commander further stated that those arrested have been involved in various types of border crimes including drug smuggling for a long time in the border areas. After initial interrogation at the battalion headquarters, they will be sued in Panchbibi police station tonight.
 
He also informed that a rigorous campaign against drugs will continue unabated in the border areas under the jurisdiction of BGB.
