Khulna, July 14 (V7N) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has lodged a case against five individuals, including Shaukat Imran, the former managing director of Khulna Shipyard Limited, on allegations of fraud and abuse of power in connection with the misappropriation of launch sales. The case was filed on Sunday (July 14) by Mahmudul Hasan Shubhra, the assistant director of ACC's Khulna district office.
 
According to a senior source within the company, the accused include Shaukat Imran, former managing director of Khulna Shipyard Limited; Mohammad Matiur Rahman, former Commander and General Manager (Finance) and member of the tender evaluation committee for sales; AM Rana, former Commander and Acting General Manager (Admin); Anishur Rahman Mollah, former captain and General Manager (Production); and Saiduzzaman Said, owner of Messrs. SB Construction.
 
The statement details that the accused misused their power through fraud, manipulation, and collusion, leading to the illicit sale of the MV Srijani Launch from Khulna Shipyard Limited at a revised price. Consequently, a case has been filed under Section 420/409/109 of the Penal Code, alongside Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947.
