According to Superintendent Saiful Islam Santu, the recruitment examination for the post of Bangladesh Police Training Recruit Constable (TRC) was conducted on November 13 at the Tangail District Police Lines. Those who passed the written test were invited for the oral exam, which took place on November 20. During the oral exam, discrepancies were found when three candidates were asked about the answers they had provided in the written test. The candidates failed to answer basic questions related to their written exam, raising suspicions of malpractice.
Upon further interrogation, the three candidates admitted to cheating and revealed that three other individuals had appeared in the recruitment test on their behalf. Acting on this information, a team from the Detective Branch raided the Holi Hostel in Kellabandh area, Kotwali Upazila, Rangpur, and arrested the six suspects. During the raid, police seized duplicate admit cards for various exams, revenue stamps, bank checks, photographs, computers, mobile phones, and other evidence.
The arrested individuals have been sent to court, with police seeking a seven-day remand for further investigation.
