Pabna, Feb 07, (V7N) - In Pabna, a student leader named Tushar was beaten by the public and handed over to the police after he secretly recorded a video during the vandalism of the house of Awami League leader Abu Saeed Khan, who had earlier shot at protesters.

The incident took place around 7 PM on Thursday, February 6, on the General Hospital Road area in the Shalgarhia neighborhood of Pabna city.

Tushar, a former president of the Pabna Municipal Chhatra League, is the son of Kazi Sultan, a resident of Shalgarhia Shapla Plastic Morr area.

According to eyewitnesses, on the afternoon of February 6, around 5 PM, protesters marched to the house of Abu Saeed Khan, the main suspect in the case of the killing of two students, and broke down the gate. After causing extensive damage to the house, they set it on fire. During the incident, Tushar secretly filmed the destruction and arson.

When he was spotted by a member of the crowd, they chased him. Tushar ran into the nearby Jalal Memorial Hospital to escape, but the protesters surrounded him there. Seeing the situation becoming tense, the hospital staff allowed him to leave, and the angry crowd beat him up. Tushar then ran into a nearby mosque for refuge, but the police arrived and arrested him before he could escape.

The officer-in-charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar police station, Abdus Salam, confirmed the incident. He said, “We rescued Tushar in an injured condition and brought him to the police station. We are investigating whether there are any cases against him, and legal action will be taken accordingly. He will be sent to Pabna Jail after the necessary legal procedures.”
