Dhaka, Feb 08, (V7N) – Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser to Bangladesh's Interim Government, urged citizens to refrain from attacking the property of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her party members, emphasizing the importance of maintaining law and order. Acknowledging the anger of those affected by Hasina's rule, he called for the protection of stability and security in Bangladesh.

In a statement released on Friday, Dr. Yunus acknowledged the frustration but insisted on upholding the rule of law. "Everyone must respect the law. Violence must not jeopardize the peace and security of the nation," he stated. He warned that violating the law would put citizens’ lives and property at risk.

Dr. Yunus noted that Sheikh Hasina’s actions, particularly her attempts to block reforms from abroad, have fueled public discontent. However, he reaffirmed the interim government's commitment to building a fair and just Bangladesh where citizens' rights are upheld.

The statement further clarified that any destabilizing actions, especially those involving property damage, would be met with strong legal actions. Dr. Yunus emphasized that those responsible would face justice, and the interim government would actively resist any attempts at violence or destruction, urging citizens to stay alert.

He also stressed the importance of those who ousted the former government in the July uprising remaining committed to human and civil rights, both domestically and internationally. Dr. Yunus affirmed that the interim government would not allow any actions that could serve as an excuse for fascist forces to manipulate international opinions or spread false narratives.

Concluding his statement, he reassured the public that law enforcement would take firm action against those attempting to cause unrest or engage in violent behavior. The interim government remains dedicated to ensuring national security and the well-being of all citizens.
