Mongla, Mar 12 (V7N) – Central BNP Research Secretary Shamimur Rahman has urged for political reforms and the swift holding of early parliamentary elections. He made this demand to Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus, who currently serves as the chief advisor to the interim government. Rahman stated that if Dr. Yunus facilitates this process, his name will be remembered in golden letters in the country’s history.
He made these remarks while attending a sari-lungi distribution event at the Senior Fazil Madrasa ground in Mongla on Wednesday afternoon. The event, organized on the occasion of Eid and for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, was attended by more than 500 underprivileged people who received clothing aid.
The distribution program was organized by Mongla Muktijoddha Dal and Arafat Rahman Koko Sports Association. Several local BNP leaders and activists, including Municipal BNP Joint Convener Emran Hossain, Municipal BNP Member Secretary Mahbubur Rahman Manik, and Muktijoddha Dal President Bir Muktijoddha Abu Hanif, were present at the event.
Rahman emphasized the need for immediate political action, stating that reforms and elections are necessary to ensure democracy and stability in the country. His remarks have added to the ongoing political discourse on Bangladesh’s electoral future.
