Pabna, Mar 15 (V7N) – Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUBST) has achieved a significant milestone, ranking 12th among the best universities in Bangladesh for the first time in the Simago Institution Rankings.

The 2025 Simago Rankings, published by the Spanish education and research institution Simago Institution, have placed PUBST among the top universities in the country.

Out of 46 public and private universities from Bangladesh featured in the rankings, PUBST has secured the 12th position.

The information regarding the Simago Institution Rankings was released on its official website last Tuesday, March 11.

According to the information provided, although the Simago rankings have been published since 2009, this marks the first time that Pabna University of Science and Technology has been included in the list.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Abdul-Awal and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam expressed their satisfaction with PUBST's first-time inclusion in the Simago rankings.

They stated, "We are working to advance the university in education and research. We firmly believe that if everyone works together within the rules, this institution will soon develop into a reputable educational institution in the country."

The Simago Institution Rankings primarily evaluate universities and research institutions based on their research activities, innovation, and societal impact. The rankings are based on publication count, citations, research quality, international collaboration, and technological innovation.

PUBST's position in this year's ranking clearly indicates that the university is improving in both the quantity and quality of its research output.

This year's list includes 5,051 universities from various countries around the world. Harvard University in the United States has once again topped the global rankings.

This achievement highlights the growing prominence of Pabna University of Science and Technology on the national and international academic stage.
