Pabna, Apr 22 (V7N) - Pabna University of Science and Technology (PUST) has finalized all arrangements for the first-year undergraduate (honors) admission test for the 2024-2025 academic year under the integrated cluster system. The admission tests will commence this Friday, April 25th, with the 'C' unit (Commerce) exam, marking the first phase of the three-phase admission process.
University authorities presented their preparations for the admission tests during a coordination meeting held on Tuesday with government administration and law enforcement agencies.
The meeting, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Abdul-Awal, took place at the Vice-Chancellor's office at 10:00 a.m. Representatives from the university administration, district administration, police administration, and other law enforcement agencies were present, where the university outlined the comprehensive arrangements for the examinations.
Professor Dr. SM Abdul-Awal announced that the 'C' unit (Commerce) admission test will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the PUST center this Friday. The 'B' unit (Humanities) exam is scheduled for May 2nd, and the 'A' unit (Science) exam will be held on May 9th, both from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. However, the Architecture Department applicants will have their exam on May 9th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Vice-Chancellor assured that measures have been implemented to ensure examinees can easily locate their assigned rooms. Students will be permitted to bring clear water bottles (without any labels) into the exam center. The university will ensure a continuous power supply, fire safety measures, and a 24/7 medical team. Examination center officials will announce the time every 15 minutes. Parking for examinees' vehicles will be available at the field opposite Calico Cotton Mill, and a shaded area with drinking water facilities will be provided for parents.
The district administration, police administration, and law enforcement agencies have announced that all photocopy shops will remain closed the day before each examination. The police will manage traffic flow and enhance surveillance in student hostels. Electronic devices will be strictly prohibited inside the exam centers, and metal detectors will be in use. Male and female police officers, ASNA members, and Rover Scouts will be deployed at the centers.
The meeting was attended by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Ahsan, Deans of various faculties, Examination-related Focal Points and Co-Focal Points, the Registrar, Proctor, Director of the Student Advisory Office, Director of the ICT Cell, Hall Provosts, and teachers associated with the Entrance Examination Committee. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Umme Tabassum, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Shariful Islam, and representatives from law enforcement agencies were also present.
In his concluding remarks, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. SM Abdul-Awal expressed his gratitude for the widespread cooperation in organizing the examinations. "Our teachers-students, officials-employees, proctorial body, various law enforcement agencies of the government, all circles related to the examination, and above all, the people of Pabna are providing all-out cooperation to organize the examination in a fair, beautiful and orderly manner. I believe that with everyone's cooperation, the examination will be completed in a fair and orderly manner.
