Satkhira, Apr 23 (V7N)— The Detective Branch (DB) of Satkhira has arrested a youth named Md. Amin Hossain (19) for allegedly deceiving people with false promises of recruitment in the National Security Intelligence (NSI).
Amin, a resident of Shakdah village in Kushodanga union of Kolaroa upazila, was arrested on Monday following specific intelligence. He was later sent to jail on Tuesday afternoon after a case was filed at the Kolaroa Police Station.
According to DB officials, Amin posed as an NSI official and used Facebook and Messenger to lure victims with job offers in exchange for money. During initial interrogation, he admitted to posting recruitment messages on his Facebook profile and extorting money from multiple people under false pretenses.
One of the victims, from Pichlapol village, filed a formal complaint that led to Amin's arrest. Authorities have warned the public to be cautious about similar online frauds and report any suspicious activity to the police.
