Rangamati, Apr 23 (V7N)- Fahim, a leader of a banned Chhatra League faction and the primary accused in the rape case filed by a Marma woman in Kaukhali, Rangamati, has been apprehended by police.
Rangamati Police Superintendent Dr. Farhad Hossain confirmed the arrest to reporters, stating that Fahim was captured in the Kadamrasul area under the Sitakunda police station in Chittagong on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrested Fahim is reportedly the son of Anwar Hossain, an elected member of Ward No. 1 of Poyapara area in Kaukhali Upazila of Rangamati.
According to the written complaint filed with Kaukhali Police Station on Thursday, April 17th, the victim, a Marma woman, was residing as a tenant in Anwar's house in Poyapara village. 1 She alleged that Fahim attempted to rape her on the night of April 17th and physically assaulted her when she resisted. She sustained injuries and received treatment at Kaukhali Hospital before filing the police complaint.
