Pabna, Nov 23 (V7N) – Nurul Islam Saddam, Secretary General of Islami Chhatra Shibir, warned that unless the student wing of the ruling party curbs violent activities, students across the country would respond decisively and show them a “red card.” He made the remarks on Sunday afternoon at Edward College, Pabna, during a freshmen orientation and career guidance program organized by the college branch of Islami Chhatra Shibir.
The program was presided over by Edward College branch President Arif Islam and moderated by Secretary Mamun Al Hasan. Saddam, speaking as the chief guest, emphasized that the Chhatra Dal is reverting to old violent practices and there will be no tolerance for attacks on Islami Chhatra Shibir. “We have exercised patience, but if they fail to show reform, the student community will respond accordingly,” he said.
Former central president of Shibir, Sirajul Islam, served as the main speaker. Other distinguished attendees included newly elected VP of Chhatra Union Ibrahim Roni, Shibir’s Central Foundation Secretary Asaduzzaman Bhuiya, District Jamaat Amir Professor Abu Taleb Mondal, and Naib Amir Principal Iqbal Hossain.
Over 1,200 first-year honors students of the 2024–25 academic session participated in the event. Students were welcomed with gifts including the Holy Quran and Islamic books, marking a ceremonial initiation by the college branch of Islami Chhatra Shibir.
