Jhalokathi, Feb 2 (V7N) — A colorful religious procession was held in Rajapur upazila of Jhalokathi to mark the 12th Guru Puja in memory of Sri Sri Mad Durgaprasanna Paramahamsadev, the founder of Sri Guru Sangha and a revered wandering spiritual leader. The event was organized by the Rajapur Upazila branch of Sri Guru Sangha on Sunday morning (February 1), upholding the core principles of “Sri Guru Joy, Truth, Service, Discipline, and the Fourfold Duties of Life.”
The procession began from the Sri Guru Sangha Ashram premises and paraded through the main roads of the upazila before concluding at the ashram. Devotees, followers, and people from different age groups participated enthusiastically, carrying banners and festoons while chanting religious slogans, which created a spiritually vibrant atmosphere across the area. During the procession, the sacred message “Miso Ma Jyotirgamay” was repeatedly chanted, reflecting the spiritual philosophy and ideals of the Guru.
Speakers at the event said that Sri Sri Mad Durgaprasanna Paramahamsadev dedicated his entire life to promoting human welfare, truth, and selfless service. They emphasized that following his teachings can help establish morality, peace, and humane values in society.
The program concluded with special prayers, a discussion session, and the distribution of prasad at the ashram premises, marking the observance as a solemn and meaningful religious gathering for the devotees and local community.
