COX'S BAZAR, July 03 (v7n): Principal Information Officer (PIO) Syed Abdal Ahmad said that rumors, fake news, and propaganda are currently the biggest threats to independent journalism.
Speaking at a workshop organized by the Department of Information in Cox's Bazar, he emphasized that the only way to counter this misinformation is through honest, responsible, and objective reporting. He added that fact-based journalism is essential to accurately present the government's development projects to the public.
The workshop was attended by 25 local journalists and information officials. During the open discussion, the participating journalists demanded easier access to official information and regular training programs for field-level reporters.
