Khulna June 9, (V7N)- Polling is being held in the three coastal upazilas of Khulna affected by Cyclone Remal today (June 09).  Polling was scheduled to be held on May 29 in the third phase in Dumuria, Phultala and Koira upazilas.  Strict security has been created by the administration to ensure that the polls are conducted smoothly and beautifully.  Judicial Magistrate, Executive Magistrate are there to stop irregularities.  BGB, Coast Guard RAB members are staying as the triking force.  Along with this, highway police and naval police have been added in a new way.  Polling was postponed from May 29 to June 9 due to Cyclone Rumel. 

According to the office of the returning officer, there are three candidates for the post of chairman in Dumuria upazila.  became  There are four male vice chairman candidates and three female vice chairman candidates in this upazila.  108 polling stations.  The number of voters is two lakh 73 thousand 114 people.  Among them 1 lakh 36 thousand 507 male voters and 1 lakh 36 thousand 607 female voters.
3 people in the position of chairman in Koira upazila.   There are nine male vice chairman candidates and three female vice chairman candidates.  Total voters are one lakh 78 thousand 537 people.  90 thousand 320 male voters, 88 thousand 16 female voters and one transgender voter.  67 polling stations.

6 candidates for the post of Chairman, 9 Vice Chairman and 4 Women Vice Chairman are contesting in Paikgacha.   Polling will be held in 97 centres.  Total voters are one lakh 31 thousand 938 people.  Out of which 1 lakh 16 thousand 871 males and 1 lakh 15 thousand 67 females.

Returning Officer Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Nazmul Hussain Khan said, extensive steps have been taken to complete the election smoothly.  37 Executive and Judicial Magistrates will perform duties.  BGB will have three platoons each in Dumuria and Paikgacha and two platoons in Koira.  Besides, the Coast Guard will perform duty in Koira sub-district.

On the other hand, RAB, Highway Police, Naval Police and other law enforcement officers will perform their duties as a triking force.  All polling materials have been distributed at the center through tight security.  However, the ballot will go to the center on the morning of the polling day.
