Khagrachari, Sep 08 (V7N) - With support from the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, the Khagrachari Red Crescent Unit has distributed food supplies for seven days to 950 families affected by recent flooding in Khagrachari.
 
On Saturday, September 7, the Khagrachari Red Crescent Unit distributed essential food items, including rice, lentils, oil, salt, sugar, and semolina, to the most severely impacted families in Khagrachari Municipality and Sadar Upazila.
 
The distribution event was attended by the Chief Guest, Lt. Colonel Abul Hasnat Jewel, PSC, Zone Commander of Khagrachari Sadar Zone. Special guests included Captain Ijaz Ahmed Sajin of the Sadar Zone, Officer-in-Charge Baten Miah of Sadar Police Station, President of the Khagrachari Press Club Tarun Bhattacharya, General Secretary Advocate Jasim Uddin Majumder, Vice-Chairman of the Khagrachari Red Crescent Unit S. Ananta Bikash Tripura, Secretary Mohammad Saifulah, member Dhirman Khisa, and Unit Officer Abdul Goni Majumder, among others.
 
In his speech during the event, Lt. Colonel Abul Hasnat Jewel commended the Red Crescent for its dedicated humanitarian efforts. He specifically praised the youth members of the Red Crescent for their exceptional work in rescuing individuals and distributing food to those affected by the floods.
