Adviser to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, Supradeep Chakma, inaugurates the newly constructed main gate of the century-old Khagrachhari Government High School on August 23.
Khagrachhari, Aug 24 (V7N) — A newly constructed, aesthetically pleasing gate was formally inaugurated at Khagrachhari Government High School, one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in the district. The renovation was officiated by Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Adviser, Supradip Chakma, at 11:00 AM on Saturday.
The project, executed by the Khagrachhari Zila Parishad’s engineering division, cost approximately Tk 33 lakh. The new structure not only beautifies the school’s entrance but is expected to strengthen its security.
Distinguished attendees included Khagrachhari Zila Parishad Chairperson Shefalika Tripura; Deputy Commissioner A. B. M. Iftekharul Islam Khandaker; Superintendent of Police Md. Arefin Jewel; along with officials from the Adviser’s office, district administrators, and the school’s acting headmaster. Teachers, students, and local dignitaries were also present.
The inauguration was met with enthusiasm from the school community. Students, parents, and alumni expressed optimism that the new entrance gate—symbolizing both heritage and progress—marks a transformative step toward modernizing their esteemed institution’s legacy.
