Narsingdi, Oct 11 (V7N) – Hundreds of teachers staged a large protest today in Narsingdi, demanding fair salaries, allowances, and inclusion in the Monthly Pay Order (MPO) system, in line with the rising cost of living.

The demonstration was organized by the Bangladesh Ideal Teachers Federation, Narsingdi district unit, and brought together educators from numerous schools and colleges across the district. Participants highlighted that despite their critical role in shaping the nation’s future, many teachers continue to receive inadequate pay, leaving them struggling to meet basic living expenses.

One protester said, “We devote our lives to educating the youth, yet our salaries do not reflect our responsibilities or the rising costs of daily life. Inclusion in the MPO and proper allowances are long overdue.”

The teachers marched through key streets of Narsingdi city, raising slogans and presenting a memorandum to local authorities demanding immediate government action to ensure fair remuneration and proper MPO enrollment.

The protest has drawn attention to the financial hardships faced by educators in the district and emphasized the urgent need for policy reforms to support teachers’ livelihoods and professional dignity.
