Jhalokathi, Oct 14 (V7N) – Under the theme “We have crossed eighteen, we will overcome mountains,” BRAC’s Social Empowerment and Legal Protection Program organized a graduation ceremony for young girls in Kathalia, Jhalokathi, on Monday, October 13. The event celebrated 26 adolescent girls who have reached 18 years of age and successfully completed the “Shopnosarthi” program.
The ceremony took place at the BRAC office in Kathalia Upazila. Chief guest Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Zahirul Islam addressed the graduates, encouraging them to understand the adverse effects of child marriage, set clear goals, and move forward in life with determination and confidence.
Special guest Thana Officer-in-Charge Mong Chenla attended the program, while the event was presided over by BRAC Jhalokathi District Coordinator Risan Reza Md. Sahed. Officers and staff from the regional office were also present to support and honor the graduates.
Certificates and awards were presented to each graduate at the conclusion of the ceremony, recognizing their achievements and inspiring them to pursue further education and personal growth.
BRAC officials emphasized that the Shopnosarthi program aims to empower young girls by enhancing their legal awareness, promoting social skills, and preparing them for a successful and independent future.
