Hyderabad, Feb 27 (V7N) – Telugu actor and YSR Congress Party member Posani Krishna Murali was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Police on Wednesday night at his residence in Hyderabad. His arrest stems from a case filed at the Obulavaripalli police station, where he is accused of making objectionable comments against a specific community.

According to reports from India Today, the charges against him include violations of sections 196, 353(2), and 111 of the Indian Penal Code, as well as section 3(5) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. He is set to be presented before the Additional Judicial Magistrate's Court in Rajarampet.

During his arrest, Posani reportedly informed the police that he was ill and undergoing treatment. However, the authorities insisted on his cooperation and issued an arrest notice to his wife, indicating that the alleged offense is punishable and non-bailable, leading to his placement in judicial custody.

This is not the first time Posani has faced legal challenges; in November 2024, he was involved in a case for making controversial remarks about Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Posani Krishna Murali is well-known as a comedy actor in the Telugu film industry and has been a vocal supporter of the YSR Congress Party, particularly during the 2024 assembly elections.
