Dhaka, July 29 (V7N) – The National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery has announced that follow-up treatment will continue free of charge for patients injured in the recent Milestone School and College training aircraft crash in Uttara, Dhaka. While no new discharges were made on Tuesday, several patients are expected to be released in the coming days.

The update came from the institute’s Acting Director, Professor Dr. Mohammad Nasir Uddin, during a press briefing held at the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

“Even after they leave the hospital, these patients will remain under our care,” Dr. Nasir said, emphasizing the long-term nature of burn treatment. He added that the patients already discharged will continue receiving free medical care, including surgeries if necessary.

“No discharges are being made today. Patients are still under observation. However, those who have been moved to cabins are showing significant improvement,” he informed.

Dr. Nasir stressed the hospital’s commitment to ensuring continuity in care:
“We will not go off track after discharge. Their treatment will remain smooth and cost-free, and no patient will be neglected.”
He further stated that the institute is maintaining detailed records of all injured individuals for future follow-up and surgical needs.

The training aircraft crash on the premises of Milestone School and College left multiple students and bystanders with serious burn injuries, sparking widespread concern. The institute's assurance comes as a major relief to the victims’ families.
