Dhaka, Oct 28 (V7N)- Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General, voiced concerns over the excessive attention on the removal of the president, cautioning that this focus could lead to political instability. Speaking on Monday as the chief guest at a dengue awareness program in Dhaka, Rizvi urged the interim government to prioritize duties rather than engaging in what he termed "unproductive activities" that risk creating political and constitutional voids.

"You've established the International Crimes Tribunal where many will face trial. However, if we divert our efforts into unnecessary complexities, the public will start to raise their voices," he remarked. Rizvi also questioned the government's lack of scrutiny of Sheikh Hasina's allies, noting, "Why are you so preoccupied with the president alone? Sheikh Hasina has many supporters within your ranks."

Citing former officials who held key roles both during the 1/11 period and under Hasina’s administration, Rizvi referred to Ali Imam Majumder, an adviser tied to the Chief Adviser’s office, asking why no questions are raised about such individuals who he says contributed to prolonging Hasina’s rule.

He stressed that focusing on whether the president remains in office or not invites unnecessary crises. "Our responsibility is to hold Sheikh Hasina’s allies accountable under the law," Rizvi added, calling out media outlets, like Ekattor TV, for allegedly endorsing Hasina's actions.

Rizvi concluded by emphasizing the importance of acting responsibly to avoid any extra-constitutional developments, asserting, "The contributions of those who fought against oppression in the quest for democracy will be remembered as a golden chapter in history."
