The hearing on the BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's bail ruling in the case involving the Chief Justice's residence damage has been rescheduled by the High Court for next week.

The hearing was postponed on Wednesday, January 3 by the HC panel of Justices Md Saleem and Shahed Nuruddin after Fakhrul's attorney Waliur Rahman requested further time to prepare, claiming "personal circumstances."

Deputy Attorney General BM Abdur Rafel defended the state, and Advocate Waliur Rahman stood in for Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

The government was asked to provide an explanation by the High Court on December 7th as to why Fakhrul should not be given bail in this matter.

Within a week, the government was requested to comment on the rule.

The hearing on the ruling was scheduled for January 3 by the High Court on December 17.

In response to allegations of destruction and an attack on the Chief Justice's residence during a BNP demonstration on October 28, police filed a case with Ramna Police Station on October 29.

Fakhrul has been detained in connection with the case since his arrest on October 29.
