DHAKA, Feb 15 (V7N) -In a significant diplomatic message, the United Kingdom has expressed its commitment to working closely with Bangladesh on shared priorities including economic growth, migration, climate, and security, highlighting the strong ties between the people of the two nations.
A spokesperson from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said they look forward to the new government advancing democratic, economic, and social reforms in Bangladesh following the recent parliamentary elections held on February 12.
The spokesperson noted that the peaceful electoral process delivered conclusive results, describing it as an important step forward in Bangladesh’s ambitions and in fulfilling the aspirations of its people.
Earlier, the United Kingdom also congratulated BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman and his party on their election victory.
The British High Commission in Dhaka, in a message shared via its verified X account, also extended greetings to the people of Bangladesh as the country enters what it described as a new chapter, reaffirming London’s intention to work together on key shared priorities.
