Apr 2 (V7N) - The NBA has suspended five players following Sunday’s brawl between the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis, with the ruling announced on Tuesday.
Pistons forward-center Isaiah Stewart received the harshest penalty, a two-game suspension without pay, due to his "repeated history of unsportsmanlike acts," according to NBA head of basketball operations Joe Dumars.
Meanwhile, four other players received one-game suspensions:
Ron Holland II (Pistons)
Marcus Sasser (Pistons)
Naz Reid (Timberwolves)
Donte DiVincenzo (Timberwolves)
The altercation began when Holland fouled Reid in the second quarter, leading to a confrontation. DiVincenzo escalated the fight by shoving Holland, causing a scuffle that spilled into the spectator area. Stewart and Sasser then joined in, pushing both DiVincenzo and Reid.
All five players were ejected from the game, which the Timberwolves won 123-104.
