Dhaka, Aug 18 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced the Bangladesh A squad for the first four-day game against South Africa A, with wicket-keeper batter Mahidul Islam Ankon named as captain for the opening match.
In their upcoming South Africa tour, Bangladesh A will play two four-day and three one-day games against South Africa A.
The first four-day match is scheduled for August 23-26 at Pretoria, while Potchefstroom will host the second game from August 30 to September 2. The one-day series will begin on September 6 at Bloemfontein, followed by the second match on September 9 at Kimberly, with the final game set for September 12 at Potchefstroom.
The squad includes Naim Sheikh, Zakir Hasan, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Parvez Hossain Emon, Nayeem Hasan and others. The full squad comprises: Naim Sheikh, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Shahadat Hossain Dipu, Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan Ankon (Captain for 1st Unofficial Test), Zakir Hasan, Afif Hossain Dhrubo, Parvez Hossain Emon, Hasan Murad, Nayeem Hasan, Anamul Haque, Al Fahad, Iqbal Hossain Emon and Kalam Siddiqui Alin.
The tour could prove particularly valuable given that the next ODI World Cup will be held in South Africa, providing Bangladeshi players with crucial exposure to local conditions.
