DALLAS, TX  Sept 18 V7N — The Dallas Stars have secured defenseman Esa Lindell with a five-year contract extension worth $26.25 million, as reported on September 17. This new deal will keep Lindell with the team through the 2029-30 season.At 30 years old, Lindell is entering the final season of a previous six-year contract valued at $34.8 million that he signed in 2019.

Last season, he played all 82 games, recording 26 points (five goals and 21 assists). In the playoffs, he contributed an additional five points (three goals and two assists) while averaging 24:45 of ice time over 19 games.Since being drafted by the Stars in the third round of the 2012 NHL Draft, Lindell has accumulated a total of 191 points (49 goals and 142 assists) in 604 career games.
