Mumbai, Oct 22 (V7N) — Former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique was recently shot dead in a targeted attack, with Indian news media confirming that the two suspects arrested in connection with the killing claimed affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang later accepted responsibility for the murder, thrusting Lawrence Bishnoi, a notorious criminal, back into the spotlight.

Bishnoi, a 31-year-old law graduate from Punjab University, has been imprisoned since 2015 and is facing multiple investigations from the state's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Despite being incarcerated, reports suggest that his family spends a substantial amount annually to ensure he lives comfortably behind bars.

According to India Times, Ramesh Bishnoi, a relative of Lawrence Bishnoi, revealed that the family allocates Rs 35-40 lakh annually for his upkeep in prison. The funds are used to maintain his living conditions and provide comforts while he remains under tight security.

Lawrence Bishnoi's criminal activities have garnered national attention, with the gangster involved in numerous high-profile crimes. His influence within the criminal underworld continues to be a major concern for law enforcement agencies across India, even as he remains behind bars.
