Algiers, Apr 15 (V7N) – Algeria has announced the expulsion of 12 French officials, giving them 48 hours to leave the country. The decision comes in the wake of the recent arrest of three Algerian citizens in France, which has strained relations between the two nations.
According to a report from BBC, the expulsion is believed to be a response to the arrest, which is linked to the kidnapping of Amir Boukors, a prominent critic of the Algerian government. Boukors, who had been living in France as a political refugee since 2016, was kidnapped from French soil in 2023. The French police's involvement in the arrest of the three Algerian nationals has further escalated tensions between Algeria and France.
