WASHINGTON, June 11 (V7N) – US President Donald Trump claimed Wednesday evening that Iranian leaders telephoned him directly and asked him to stop a bombing wave that was underway, according to Fox News. Trump told Fox News in an interview that US forces had hit Iran with 49 Tomahawk missiles in its latest bombing raid early Thursday, Iran time.

Trump further stated that if Iran does not accept US terms for ending the war, "we'll bomb the S-out of them tomorrow night," as reported by Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst. The remarks come amid escalating military confrontation between the two nations.

However, Iran's Revolutionary Guards quickly denied that Tehran had asked Trump to halt the bombing, according to the IRNA state news agency. The Guards issued a strong rebuttal to the US president's claim.

"Trump's claim that Iranian officials have contacted him is strongly denied and is a cover for escaping war," the Revolutionary Guards said in their statement. The denial underscores the ongoing propaganda war accompanying the military hostilities.

The reported missile strikes and the subsequent exchange of claims represent the latest escalation in the long-running conflict between Washington and Tehran, with both sides trading accusations while military operations continue in the region.
