In an electrifying match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, Towhid Hridoy's explosive batting propelled Comilla Victorians to a resounding seven-wicket victory over Khulna Tigers in their ninth Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) encounter.

Opting to bat first, Khulna Tigers posted a competitive total of 164-8. However, Comilla Victorians chased down the target effortlessly, reaching 168-3 in just 16.3 overs, largely due to Hridoy's scintillating innings of 91 not out off only 47 deliveries.

Hridoy's innings were a masterclass in power-hitting, as he dispatched the ball to the boundary seven times and cleared it over the ropes on an equal number of occasions, leaving the Khulna Tigers' bowlers helpless.

This victory solidified Comilla Victorians' hold on the second position in the league standings with 14 points. Meanwhile, the league leaders, Rangpur, also with 14 points, retained their top spot due to a superior net run rate.

Jaker Ali provided valuable support to Hridoy, remaining unbeaten on 40 off 31 balls and ensuring smooth sailing for Comilla Victorians in their chase.

Despite losing early wickets, including that of captain Liton Das, Hridoy's aggressive approach kept Comilla Victorians on track for the win. Even though Johnson Charles departed, Jaker Ali's attacking play dashed any hopes of a Khulna Tigers comeback.

Khulna Tigers' batting lineup struggled to capitalize on their starts, with most batsmen failing to convert them into significant scores. Evin Lewis top-scored for Khulna Tigers with 36 runs off 20 balls, but it wasn't enough to set a challenging target.

Comilla Victorians' bowlers, Moeen Ali and Matthew Ford, played their part by picking up crucial wickets, further contributing to Khulna Tigers' downfall.
