NOV 02, V7N- Kim Pan-gon expressed relief and pride after leading Ulsan Hyundai to their third consecutive K-League title, securing the club's fifth championship overall with a 2-1 victory over Gangwon FC. Kim, who took over in late July after Hong Myung-bo stepped down to coach South Korea's national team, admitted he felt pressured to continue Ulsan's winning streak. Despite early doubts about returning to South Korea and taking on his first K-League head coaching role, Kim praised the players’ commitment as the driving force behind their success.
Ulsan’s strong form under Kim has seen them lose only once in the league since his arrival, winning eight of their last 11 matches. Reflecting on his journey, Kim said, "I kept wondering if I had made the wrong choice... but I had to overcome those challenges on my own." His former experience as a player with Ulsan and his players’ trust helped him persevere and ultimately secure the title.
