Argentina's scheduled match against Nigeria in the United States has been canceled due to visa-related challenges, prompting a change in opponents and venue. Instead of facing Nigeria, Argentina will now play a friendly match against Costa Rica in North America.

The cancellation marks another setback for Argentina, the reigning world champions, who have faced a series of complications in their international fixtures. Earlier, two friendlies in China were called off amid controversy surrounding star player Lionel Messi. The subsequent rescheduling not only altered the venue but also changed the opponents for Argentina's national team.

The latest hurdle arose as the Nigeria team encountered difficulties in obtaining US visas, forcing a revision of the fixture. Consequently, Lionel Scaloni's squad will now prepare to take on Costa Rica instead.

Confirmation of the change came from the Argentine Football Association on Tuesday (February 27). The revised schedule now includes a friendly match against Costa Rica on March 26 at the Colosseum Stadium in Los Angeles. Prior to that, Messi's team will engage in another friendly encounter against El Salvador at the Lincoln Financial Field Stadium on March 22.
