Dhaka, Nov 05 (V7N) — Mohammad Salahuddin, the senior assistant coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team, has decided to end his tenure with the team. He will officially step down after the upcoming home series against Ireland, marking the end of his one-year stint with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

According to a report by Cricbuzz, Salahuddin had earlier submitted his resignation via email and visited the BCB headquarters on Wednesday (November 5) to complete the formalities.

Salahuddin joined the BCB on November 5 last year under a contract extending to the 2027 ICC World Cup. However, he has chosen to resign citing personal reasons, saying he no longer enjoys the role.

Despite his resignation, Salahuddin will serve a one-month notice period, during which he will remain with the team for the two-Test and three-T20 series against Ireland at home.

The coach has recently faced criticism over the team’s poor batting performance and alleged dressing room tensions, with claims of internal groupings under his influence.

Meanwhile, at a BCB board meeting on Monday (November 3), former national captain Mohammad Ashraful was appointed as batting coach for the upcoming Ireland series.
