Rumors about head coach Chandika Hathurusingha's dedication to the Bangladesh cricket team have been refuted by a representative of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). After Hathurusingha visited Australia, where his family resides, before the conclusion of the Test match against Sri Lanka and the Eid vacation, rumors regarding his possible departure began to circulate.

Jalal Yunus, the BCB’s cricket operations chairman, expressed certainty about Hathurusingha’s role, questioning the basis of such rumors and confirming no official statement had been made concerning the coach’s future.

In a media briefing in Mirpur, Jalal announced that the coaching team is set to arrive in Dhaka for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. The head coach is expected on April 21st, with the rest of the staff joining by the 23rd.

He also noted that the squad for the Zimbabwe series will be announced shortly, hinting that this lineup could form the core of the team for the World Cup.

Currently, national players are competing in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League but will soon convene with the national team to prepare for the Zimbabwe series starting May 3rd in Chattogram, with the initial three games there and the remaining two in Dhaka.
