World number nine Alex de Minaur is set to make his Olympic debut in Paris next month, three years after Covid-19 prevented his participation in the Tokyo Games.
De Minaur will lead a four-player Australian men's singles team, which includes Alexei Popyrin, Chris O'Connell, and Rinky Hijikata—all first-time Olympians.
"Obviously last time round I got a little bit unlucky to not be able to play in Tokyo," said De Minaur. "But I've had my eyes set on Paris and I am super excited to now be officially part of this team. I am really looking forward to just immersing myself in what it means to be an Olympian."
Ajla Tomljanovic will represent Australia in the women's singles draw, marking her second Olympic appearance.
"It feels amazing to be selected to my second Olympic team," said the world number 135.
The tennis tournament in Paris will be held at Roland Garros, only the second time in Olympic history that it will be played on clay, following Barcelona in 1992.
Top-ranked doubles player Matt Ebden will partner with Tokyo mixed-doubles bronze medallist John Peers in the men's doubles, while De Minaur will team up with Popyrin.
World number nine doubles player Ellen Perez will join forces with Daria Saville in the women's doubles for Australia. The mixed-doubles pairings will be announced before the selection deadline on July 24.
The Paris Olympics opening ceremony is on July 26, with the tennis tournament beginning the following day.
