Bangladesh fast bowler and vice-captain Taskin Ahmed has urged the nation to look beyond the negatives as the team strives to establish itself in the T20 format. Speaking after the team's return from the West Indies, Taskin acknowledged the disappointment surrounding their performance but highlighted the positives as well.

"We won three matches in the T20 World Cup for the first time. So there are positives, but there are negatives too. We are disappointed like the rest of you. We didn't play up to expectations," Taskin said. "We never had a great record in T20s. We are improving slowly. We can't just focus on the negatives. Your frustration is justified, but you have to keep faith in us. We are trying to give you a good win."

Bangladesh won three out of four matches in the group phase but lost all three in the Super 8 stage. The team's lackluster performance against Afghanistan in their final Super 8 match, where they failed to chase 116 runs in 12.1 overs, was particularly disheartening.

Taskin noted the struggles of the batters throughout the 47-day tour in the Americas, which began with a 2-1 series defeat to the USA. Despite the batting woes, the bowlers played a crucial role in helping the team reach the Super 8 stage for the first time since 2007. "Yes, it is terrible if you talk about the batting, but at the same time, if you look at the statistics, I think every team's batting department suffered in the USA this time. Bowlers got a lot of help. We only got better batting wickets in the West Indies," Taskin explained. "I haven't seen such a long bad patch for the batters in my 10 years playing for Bangladesh. I hope it goes away quickly."

Taskin, who missed the T20 series against the USA due to injury but returned for the World Cup, praised the emergence of pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib and leg-spinner Rishad Hossain. Rishad finished joint-third among the tournament's top wicket-takers with 14 wickets, while Tanzim took 12 wickets
