Kazakhstan's Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev secured their nation's first medal of the Paris Olympics 2024 by winning bronze in the 10-meter air rifle mixed team event. They triumphed over the German duo of Maximilian Ulbrich and Anna Janssen with a score of 17-5.
In the qualification round, the Kazakhstan team finished third with 630.8 points, while Germany placed fourth with 629.7 points. This strong performance set the stage for their successful medal match.
Unfortunately, it was not a good day for India in the same event. The pairs of Ramita and Arjun Babuta, as well as Elavenil Valarivan and Sandeep Singh, finished sixth and twelfth, respectively. Despite a strong start, Ramita and Arjun narrowly missed the cut-off for the medal round by just 1.0 points.
The victory for Kazakhstan marks a significant achievement, showcasing their shooting prowess on the Olympic stage.
