Intern physicians and postgraduate trainees created a human chain for four demands earlier on Saturday, March 23, near the central Shaheed Minar.

According to Jabir Hossain, president of the Postgraduate Private Trainee Doctors Association, trainee physicians have not received an allowance for the last nine months. Additionally, private institute resident and diploma trainee allowances have been discontinued. In January, there will be another rise in our allowance. The interns' allowance was also intended to rise in tandem with that. But all that is preserved for us are promises.

Intern physicians and postgraduate trainees have the following four demands in common:

1. The salary of intern doctors should be increased to 30 thousand rupees and the salary of postgraduate private trainee doctors should be increased to 50 thousand rupees.

2. Post Graduate Trainee Physicians (FCPS, Resident and Non-Resident) are required to pay arrears of allowance.

3. The non-resident and resident allowance of 12 private institutes should be revoked and the allowance should be reinstated.

4. A doctor's protection law should be enacted immediately.
