The students of Government Sundarban Adarsh Mahavidyalaya have protested over the sharing of a religiously offensive post by a teacher of Bengali department. From 11:30 am on Wednesday, they protested and stopped the admission process and blocked Khanjahan Ali road.

Later, they lifted the blockade on the request of the leaders and teachers of the College Chhatra League. Until this report was written, the meeting between the student leaders and the students was going on with the principal of the college.

Tarikul Islam Sumon, the former VP of Sundarban College's college students' union, said that a few days ago, Basud, a teacher of the Bengali department, shared a post insulting Islam on Facebook. Immediately the students objected to this. The matter was reported to the principal in writing on March 24. The principal mourned the teacher.

In the meantime, when the college was closed, the matter settled down. When the campus opened on Wednesday, ordinary students protested again. The issue was resolved by discussing with the principal, other teachers and students.

Professor Maqsuda Sultana, principal of Sundarban College, said that a written explanation was sought from the teacher on March 24. The matter has been reported to higher authorities.
