Mumbai, Oct 10 (V7N)- India mourns the loss of Ratan Tata , one of its most iconic businessmen and former chairman of the Tata Group, who passed away at the age of 86. The industrialist, renowned for his leadership and philanthropy, was undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where he died on Wednesday night .
To honor his legacy, Tata’s body has been taken to the National Center for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Mumbai, where the public can pay their last respects until 4 pm local time today. Following the tribute, the cremation will take place in the Warli area of Mumbai.
India’s Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to attend the funeral, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi , currently attending the ASEAN-India summit in Laos , will not be able to be present. However, he expressed his deep condolences, alongside other Indian leaders, including President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar , who shared their profound grief at the passing of the Tata Group leader.
Ratan Tata, who was instrumental in steering the Tata Group to global recognition, leaves behind a legacy of business innovation, humanitarian work, and national pride.
