New Delhi, Nov 05 (V7N) — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made assertive comments against the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing them of supporting Bangladeshi infiltrators to secure votes. According to a report from Hindustan Times, Modi claimed that these parties are providing housing and other facilities across the state to attract votes from alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators.

Modi underscored his concerns about cultural and religious disruptions, claiming that situations have arisen where restrictions are imposed on Saraswati Vandana, and that festivals like Durga Puja face obstacles, such as stone-throwing and curfews. He highlighted these as indicators of escalating security concerns. "Girls are being misled in the name of marriage," he added, suggesting the issue has serious social consequences. "Then you will understand that water is flowing over your head."

Modi also criticized the handling of infiltration cases by local administrations, suggesting that when such cases reach court and are dismissed, it points to government negligence or complicity.

In related remarks during a campaign in Jharkhand, Home Minister Amit Shah echoed these concerns, alleging that infiltration has continued unchecked in West Bengal and Jharkhand. Shah argued that local administrations in both states are complicit in allowing and encouraging infiltration, thus further exacerbating the issue.

The statements have stirred reactions across the political landscape, with opposition leaders criticizing Modi and Shah for making polarizing remarks that they claim could create division and unrest.
