Kabul, Dec 25 (V7N) — A high-level delegation from Afghanistan and Pakistan met with Pakistan's Special Representative and Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq in Kabul on Tuesday to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, according to Pakistani media outlet Dawn.
The meeting focused on improving diplomatic, commercial, and transit relations between the two neighbouring countries, which share a 2,600-kilometre border. Following the discussions, the office of Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi stated that the delegation expressed a desire to strengthen ties in these areas.
Taliban’s top diplomat reaffirmed Kabul's commitment to fostering positive relations with Islamabad. "We had extensive discussions. We agreed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and work together for peace and progress in the region," Ambassador Sadiq shared on social platform X.
The talks come amidst heightened tensions due to the increasing terrorist attacks by Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which have claimed thousands of lives among Pakistani military and civilian personnel. These attacks have further strained relations between the two countries, underlining the need for improved collaboration to ensure regional stability and security.
