Pyongyang, Feb 28 (V7N) – North Korea has conducted a strategic cruise missile test, its state media confirmed on Friday. The test comes as Kim Jong Un orders the country’s nuclear forces to be fully prepared for potential conflict.

Missile Test as a Show of Strength

According to the report, the missile test was carried out to demonstrate North Korea’s nuclear strike capability and send a warning to those posing a threat to its security. Kim Jong Un personally observed the launch, emphasizing that deterrence is only possible through strong military readiness.

The statement also accused external forces of attempting to provoke North Korea, stating that the test was a direct response to rising threats against the country.

South Korea Detects Missile Activity

Meanwhile, South Korea’s military reported on Wednesday (February 26) that it had detected signs of missile launch preparations. Officials also confirmed that several cruise missiles were observed flying over the sea, raising concerns over escalating tensions in the Korean Peninsula.

Growing Tensions with the U.S.

Since the tenure of former U.S. President Donald Trump, North Korea has accused the United States of increasing provocations in the region. Kim Jong Un has now directed his nuclear forces to be in a state of readiness to counter what he calls “enemy provocations.”

This latest missile test is expected to further heighten tensions between Pyongyang, Seoul, and Washington, amid ongoing regional security concerns.
