The sighting of the Ramadan moon in Saudi Arabia has signaled the start of the holy month of fasting, as reported by Arab News on Sunday. With the confirmation of the moon sighting, Ramadan will officially begin in the kingdom from Monday.

Consequently, it is confirmed that fasting will commence in Bangladesh from Tuesday, following the start of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia.

However, the moon of the month of Ramadan was not sighted in Southeast Asian countries such as Brunei and Malaysia on Sunday. Therefore, they have announced that fasting will commence from next Tuesday.

Indonesia's Ministry of Religion has declared that Monday marks the 30th day of the month of Shaban, with Tuesday being the first day of Ramadan.

Australia, due to its geographical location in the Eastern Hemisphere, is the first country to announce the start of fasting. The time difference between Australia and many other countries, including those in the Western Hemisphere, allows for the earlier sighting of the moon.

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a sacred period during which Muslims observe fasting from dawn to dusk, abstaining from food and drink, and engaging in various spiritual practices.
