Tehran, June 16 (V7N) — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed parliament on Monday, firmly stating that Iran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons.

"We do not want nuclear weapons. We have no such intention," Pezeshkian said, as reported by Reuters. He added that Iran will continue to enrich uranium, emphasizing the country’s right to peaceful nuclear energy use.

“When a hero is martyred, hundreds of new heroes are ready to raise his flag. They will stand against injustice, crime and betrayal,” the president said, highlighting Iran’s resolve.

Pezeshkian clarified that uranium enrichment will continue for energy production and scientific purposes, asserting, “It is our right to benefit from nuclear energy.”
