India's West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress President, Mamata Banerjee, sustained injuries after a fall within the premises of her Kalighat residence on Thursday. She was subsequently admitted to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata, where she received medical attention.

She was swiftly taken to SSKM Hospital, where she underwent tests, including a CT scan. Following assessments, she received three stitches on her forehead and one on her nose. Trinamool's All India General Secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, confirmed Mamata Banerjee's condition, stating that she had received four stitches - three on her forehead and one on her nose. He expressed confidence in her swift recovery, attributing it to the blessings of the people of Bengal.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Member of Parliament and actor Dev halted a party meeting upon learning of Mamata Banerjee's injury. He subsequently visited the Vishalakshi temple in Ghatal to offer prayers for her recovery.
